How do you pronounce your name?
Fran-CHESS-kuh ZAP-pee-uh
This is the way I say it. If you speak Italian and want to pronounce it the right way, please feel free.
I usually go by “Chessie,” so you can call me that.
I’m writing an essay on you/your books! What’s your basic biographical information?
I live in Indiana and I have for my whole life. I have my undergraduate degree in Computer Science and Mathematics from the University of Indianapolis, and I’m currently getting my MBA from the same place. My favorite food is lettuce and my favorite book is Robin McKinley’s The Hero and the Crown. I have a dog named Gus and a cat named Carl and I love them a lot.
Will you ever write sequels to Made You Up or Eliza and Her Monsters?
If I write anything related to Made You Up, it won’t be a sequel, it’ll be some weird AU where Alex and Miles are anachronistic Wild West vigilantes or steampunk mech pilots or something else where I can dress them up in ridiculous costumes and throw them into fantasy worlds.
Eliza is probably also a no, but who knows. That kid Sully still has some issues he could work out.
Where can I get that sweet Currently Drafting spreadsheet that you use?
Check it out, yo!
Currently Drafting Spreadsheet
Click on “File” and you’ll find options for either downloading the spreadsheet to your computer or saving a copy to your own Google Drive.
Will you ever publish Monstrous Sea?
I would LOVE to publish Monstrous Sea. Unfortunately, the publishing industry doesn’t run on love, it runs on money. I have to show publishers that there’s demand for the story. How can you show support? Talk about it to your friends and family, post about it online, spread the word.
If you’d like to see Monstrous Sea as a real book, don’t give up hope!
Are you going to keep writing The Children of Hypnos? And are you ever going to publish The Children of Hypnos as a physical book?
I’ll definitely keep writing CoH! For now, you’ll be able to read all current and future installments on Wattpad.
As for a physical copy—see my answer about Monstrous Sea. It depends mostly on demand for the story.
Are you writing more books?
Always.
Have a question you don’t see here?
I answer questions on on my Tumblr. Always feel free to ask anonymously if you feel more comfortable with that.
You can see all the questions I’ve answered on Tumblr here. You can also click on the tags of the posts (like #Made You Up or #Eliza and Her Monsters) to see the posts I’ve made about those specific books.
I try to answer questions on Saturdays once there are enough questions waiting. If I start receiving enough, I’ll answer questions every Saturday.
